Food Shelf Programs
We provide outreach for guests of East African origin through two programs; our weekly East African Food Distribution and our Home Delivery Program.
East African guests may come to the food shelf once a month on Thursday mornings. CES has a part-time staff person to help with interpretation and translation.
Culturally specific foods offered at this distribution include goat meat, Chori beans and jasmine rice. Oil, flour and sugar are also offered and guests may choose from a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as milk and eggs.
Most East African households have at least four members, and receive around 50 pounds per month.
