Meals on Wheels (MOW)
Ani-Meals is a program that helps our Meals on Wheels clients keep their beloved pets healthy. Those receiving home delivered meals have a number of things in common. They are often at nutritional risk and may spend most of their time in relative isolation.
One coping strategy that relieves loneliness and improves engagement is the companionship of a pet. The need to feed a dog or cat can be the downside of this relationship. An animal can literally eat into the food resources of already vulnerable people. Weekend deliveries provide additional contact to relieve isolation. We deliver a four-pound bag of dry pet food and some canned for each animal.
The program is supported by a grant from Banfield Animal Hospitals and donations from CES donors and volunteers.
Volunteer/support opportunities with Ani-Meals (Meals on Wheels for Animals):

- You can choose the addresses and number of pets you want to deliver to
- Families are encouraged to volunteer together and bring their pets
- Donations of pet food (dog or cat, particularly canned cat food), or cash help support our clients and their pets
